Her Majesty's Dog
Jun. 19th, 2007 02:22 pmHey,
Well, my manga came fairly quickly this month. I read Her Majesty's Dog, and I must say, I like it thus far. It's different, that's for sure. I do like the way that Hyoue is so crass, but super over protective. In some ways, it's like he has Inuyasha's personality but with a bit more sexual bravado, but the story between him and Amane echoes the Sess/Rin story. Little girl finds dog demon in tree, dog demon decides to stay with and protect little girl. Only difference is they're both in modern times at a modern school. And Amane is pretty powerful in her own right with the use of names and all. I love the conflict between them, him being her "dog" and her the master but how she wants to be his friend (perhaps with benefits?? Besides "feeding," that is...it's soooooooo obvious that Hyoue wants her after all, and not just for "life force"), but yet they're not entirely equal. And Hiraka certainly gets under Hyoue's collar. He's got a superiority complex to boot. Remind you of anyone??? Anyways, so far it's pretty good. I wasn't sure when I picked it up on recommendation from Nikkie, but I'm glad I did.
Until next time,
Far Away Eyes
