IYFG Awards

Hey,

Well the IYFG results are in. Journey was in three categories, Best Action/Adventure, Best Characterization (Sesshomaru), and Best Serial. It only placed in one, but it missed the other two by one vote. I'm very proud of the results, even if I didn't place in two of the three. To come close to placing in those two categories, especially the characterization one is an honor itself.

I have two stories in the Best of 2007 polls, however, so voting isn't quite done. I have Songs of Faith and Devotion: Shake the Disease in the Best Songfic/Poemfic poll, and the drabble What He Found In Her Eyes in the Best Canon poll. I wish everyone luck with the voting!

Journey has also done well in the Destined Awards. It was in three categories there as well. It was in Best Love Story, Best Characterization (Inuyasha this time), and Best Melodrama. It tied for first in Best Love Story and Best Characterization and placed third in Best Melodrama. I'm very proud that it did this well. For a story that's now over three years old, it's a feat to still get people interested enough to nominate it for and vote for it to win awards. Thank you so much.

I can't wait to see what the banners for both awards will look like!

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

Hey,

Now that the IYFG Banners are finished, I'd like post those and the ones I've gotten for the drabble contests. Here they are:

All the banners are pretty and I can't say thank you enough to [personal profile] forthrightly and [profile] caitriona695 for making them for me!

Don't forget that the next IYFG Quarter will begin on Sunday. You can check my nomination reference list here for more information on what is eligible. Good luck to everyone!

Hey,

It is that time again! The Inuyasha Fanguild is taking nominations for the first quarter of 2007. I am very happy to have my song fic collection Songs of Faith and Devotion nominated by [profile] quirkyslayer thus far.

Here is the list of what I have eligible. Do check it out if you feel inclined. Good luck to everyone on my f-list!

Until next time,

Yay! I got my pretty banner for my win in the Best Miroku/Sango category! It was made by [personal profile] forthrightly and it's soooooo purdy! Look!

I'm still surprised by the win, but it makes me happy none the less! Thanks!
farawayeyes4: (Depeche Sess)
Hey,

Well, that's about all for now. I better get going so I can work on all those things, right?

Well, the Inuyasha Fanguild Polls have been posted. I have been lucky to have been nominated. Journey has been nominated in the Best Serial category and thanks to [personal profile] inuhanyounikkie, it has been nominated for Best Miroku/Sango. I am anxious to see how this will turn out. I wish luck to everyone on my f-list, and all the good authors that were nominated.

Until next time,

Hey,

That's right, the Second Annual Maximum Challenge has been posted. I have decided to submit Child of the Moon in the categories of "And Then Cry Me A River," and "Sing a Song of Sixpence." If you will recall, last year, I won first place in the "And Then Cry Me A River" category for my original piece Bleeding Through. I don't expect I'll win/place with Child, but in the past year, I'd say it's my best completed work. It was fun putting my favorite band and Inuyasha characters together in one piece. Rest assured, I do have other stories on the docket (other than Journey, mostly song fics), so one never knows, I might try my hand at it again.

I have yet to decide if I will submit The Journey to the City of Endless Night for any categories. I am not certain if I want to make the judges have to read that long of a story when they will have so many other entries to work on. Perhaps if it was completed, I would consider it. Besides, I already know it can win awards as it has in the IYFG and Feudal Association.

Speaking of which, as you'll note, the nominations period has begun for the IYFG again. I have to thank [profile] doggieearlover for nominating Journey in the Best Serial category. This quarter, it is my only story eligible to nominate. Just remember, do not nominate it for Best Crossover, as I have requested. The Feudal Association is also having its voting period right now through January 20. Thanks to [profile] doggieearlover, again, Child of the Moon is on the ballot for Best Characterization for Sesshomaru. Don't forget to vote for your fave fics and fanart.

Other than that, I am hoping to get this silly chapter to finish itself up so you can enjoy. I know it has been a long wait!

Until next time,

Hey,

I thought I'd finally take the chance to post the banners I got for the last quarter. I know I haven't been around a lot, but my beta is visiting for a bit this week. Anyways, here are my banners:

Awards!!  )
The banners are well done, and I'm very happy to have them to mark the last quarter. It was a nice surprise.

As for the next chapter, I do have a couple scenes left to write, and then do th editing, so it might a bit more, we shall see. I also have my beta whispering in my ear about some songfics.

Until next time,

Hey Reader,

Well, the Inuyasha Fanguild awards have been posted and I must say they make me a lot happier. I'm very honored to have won, placed, or showed in the categories I was nominated in. I'm also honored to know so many good authors who are also on the winners list. It's nice to know that we keep such good talent around here at LJ and in the Inuyasha fandom.

farawayeyes4: (So Damn Hot)
Hey Reader,

Yeah, I know. I just changed the layout on my journal, but I want my damn icon pics with my damn entries, sooooooooo I changed to this one and I think it's pretty sharp. That, and the weird entry from last night just NEEDED Sesshomaru's losing dignity icon. (Thanks to Quirky for that one. . .) I still giggle every time I see Sesshomaru in that pose and then the quote. After what I've done to him in the story. . .I say it's fairly appropriate.

Anyways, I wanted to say thanks to inuyashaloverr for the seconds at the Guild. Yay! It means so much to me! Hopefully that'll continue into the next round. She single handedly seconded Journey to the City of Endless night for BOTH Best Serial and Best Crossover, along with Child of the Moon for Best Songfic. So again, thanks. No matter what happens there, it means a lot that my readers want to honor it!

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

Hey Reader,

Just a quick note while on my lunch break! I'll probably journal again later tonight.

Anyways, so far Journey has been thirded for Best Drama. I'd like to thank Cierah. I am hoping that I will pick up the third for Best Serial. I am going to cross my fingers, that's for sure! There are a lot of good stories that do need it, too, so do go through and pick the ones you find worthy!

I guess I better get back to work. . .will it ever cool down enough so I don't feel like I'm going to die? I work in a warehouse, folks, with NO air. Sigh.

Until later today then,

Far Away Eyes

Hey Reader,

Yay! I am on page five of my song-fic. I am hoping to have the rough write done tonight or sometime tomorrow afternoon. It is coming along nicely, and I am almost done with the second stanza. The third one will be the easiest to write, I think. I am so excited by this story. It'll give me a nice break from Journey so I can attack that next chapter fresh. That way it will be the best it can be. Sometimes the muse can demand things and you must obey, after all!

The Inuyasha Fanguild has closed secondings only a few minutes ago. Thirding begins on Monday at midnight. I am crossing my fingers that I will get on the ballot. I'd like to thank, although I'm sure people are getting tired of it, [profile] doggieearlover and Shawna560 for the nominating and seconding. I'm anxious to see if anyone will third it. A lot of great stories have made it through the second round, so be sure to take a look and chose wisely!

I also got to talk to my beta for a good while last night. We discussed a lot of the ideas I have for Journey, and she loved most of them. We also ironed out other things that needed some polishing. So even if I'm not working on the next chapter just now, the story does have a lot of things ploted for it! Big things, too. You will all just have to be patient and find out when things are posted! I'm not telling you what those big plots are.

I suppose I should get back to work otherwise you'll all be angry with me!

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

Hey Reader,

I hope everyone is keeping cool in this horrible heat. It's almost unbearable here. Anyways, I know I had promised that I wouldn't let another month lapse between updates, but sorry! It's at least a day earlier than I had said it would be, right? For those of you who haven't been following my journal, part of the reason this chapter didn't come out as quickly as I would have liked is because I have a new job. It's a full time, 40 hours per week type job, so it does take a lot of time away from writing. However, because it's so boring, I do get to think of other ideas for the story, so hopefully I'll be able to work on a new chapter that much faster. It would also help if it would cool down, even a little.

We have reached another milestone with this latest chapter. I have now 800 pages exactly for this story. I was suprised when I added this chapter to the manuscript. Yay. 800 pages! It makes me wonder how many pages we'll end up with by the time it is over, that's for sure.

The nominations period at the Inuyasha Fanguild are coming to a close tonight. This story has received too nominations, one for Best Drama, and the other for Best Serial. The seconding period begins on July 23 and runs through the 29th. After that, thirding will take place on July 31-August 6, and finally voting on August 13-26. I am excted to be nominated, and I must thank [profile] doggieearlover for the nominations I have received. They mean a lot to me. There are a lot of good stories nominated this quarter, so do check them out.

Now for the individual responses:

AFF:

chanda: I'm glad you liked the battle scene details. Those took a lot of work and I struggled to get them exactly the way I liked them. I'm glad it turned out.

lil_merc_girl: I enjoyed Sesshomaru's time with Rin in that tent, too. It was a nice relaxing moment after all the frantic activity of the past couple chapters prior to that. I think they'll need as much rest as they can get for the future! As for Inuyasha's unknown friend, you'll have to see! We'll find out who that is in good time!

adea neri: I hope this chapter was worth the wait for you! I know I had a lot of fun putting it together, for the most part, anyways.

New Fan: I think Koga will have a lot of trouble on his hands as we go along. That being said, I think he'll find a way to redeem himself. I don't know if Rin will ever really trust him, or really like him all that much, but we shall see what happens with events i in the story as we go along. Anything is possible!

SP777: Glad to see you're still with the story. It's good to see more readers come back after all of AFF's problems. As for the chapter not fully loading, I'm not sure what is going on there. I checked it an it looked fine to me!

Anime Spiral:

inu_obsessed: Yes, Koga's here. But I'm afraid we'll have to wait on just who that voice is in Inuyasha's head!

Media MIner:

Gothic Cotton: Glad you liked the chapter!

doggieearlover: I know a lot of people wanted that explanation as to why Sesshomaru hadn't taken action sooner, so I had to include that. I hope it tuned out alright. As for Koga, I think we know who scared him the most, at least this time. I don't think he'll be stupid enough to challenge again, that's for sure. I do think it'll be interesting when Inuyasha has to face up about the Voice, and hopefully find out who it is, and when Sesshomaru has to explain his power to raise the dead, but we'll see how that all works out.

YukiNoMiko: I'm glad this fic is one of your favorites. I know I enjoy writing it. As for Inuyasha's harsh treatment of Shippo, I find it to be justified. He had let Shippo get away with whining, complaining, and acting like a brat pretty much until that point. Then on top of it, Shippo did shout that he hated Inuyasha and Rin for taking up Kagome's time. That was inconsiderate and rude for him to do, not to mention disrespectful to a man who had taken him in and had taken care of him ever since. If anything, Inuyasha finally stepped up as a father and put his foot down so Shippo could grow up and learn to be a responsible, honorable man some day. If Sesshomaru had been there, Shippo might have lost a bit off his tail or more. Inuyasha was fairly easy on him. As for the swearing, particularly in the last couple chapters with Inuyasha, he was NOT a happy guy and I've noticed in the translated manga(NOT done by Viz), Inu swears A LOT, especially around Koga. It's just something he does when he's upset, vulnerable, and doesn't want anyone to realize he's feeling those things.

Inu-Hanyou Nikkie: I am so glad you have started to read this story. I love your reviews a lot! I'm thrilled that you liked how I started the story, and how Polgara managed to make our dear Demon Lord realize he might not be top dog(No pun intended). I think Ce'Nedra, in the beginning of her apperances in the novels, can be irritating, but I find I like her character as she got older and wiser. She had her flighty moments, but at least she started to realize the world was not all about her. And yeah, isn't Beldin a treat for two dog demons with super smelling? I'm glad you liked my torment of Jaken. I couldn't resist. I wouldn't want to eat him either. The spacing issues, I haven't had that problem, but perhaps when I reuploaded the entire story, MediaMiner screwed it a little. I had it right before. Hmmm. I'm glad you think I'm keeping everyone in character. I strive to figure out how to do that, and sometimes switching POVs can take some time. I liked having them meet Aldur, too. It was a fun scene to write. Yes, I was cruel to Inuyasha to put him up on that horse, wasn't I? Oh well. He'll just have to get used to it. The dress took some time for me to come up with, but I figured green is more of Kagome's color. That, and we had to really give Inu something to stare at, that's for sure. And as for Sesshomaru's curiousity about the card game, I couldn't help it. He's very curious, more than anything, sometimes.

OpinoVana: I'm glad you love the story a lot. I love writing Sesshomaru and Rin's interactions sometimes the most, because they are so tender  with one another. As for Inuyasha and Sesshomaru acting like brothers, yes, they are getting closer to that, but I think they still have a lot of work to do! You're right about that bird following Rin. It is not a nice bird, but it isn't necessarily Rin's fault that she hasn't done anything about the bird. You'll see. Yes, she can use her telepathic abilities that come from her sorcery across long distances. So far, she's only talked to Poledra and Sesshomaru this way, when they were with her right there, but she can talk to anyone this way over great distances. It is possible. And don't worry about the questions. I like to hear them!

I hope everyone is finding some relief in this heat. I know it's terrible. Anyways, I hope you will enjoy the chapter!

Hey Reader,

It is that time again. The Inuyasha Fanguild 2nd Quarter will begin accepting nominations tonight at Midnight, Central time. There are a lot of great stories out there that need some recognition, so if you read an excellent story and want to see it get some loving, you better be preparing your nominations, folks!

If you are feeling inclined to nominate my story, do keep in mind that because I took Best Crossover of 2005, I am ineligible to be nominated for this category. I figure if you take Best, why keep going for the same category! Feel free to nominate it for any other category YOU feel it deserves to be nominated for. I'll appreciate it, a lot. I can't tell you how much it means to me that people find my story worthy of such regard.

For those of you who do not know where the Fanguild is, you can learn more by going here.  There you will learn all the rules for the nominating period, what stories are inelligible in what category, and what has already been nominated. Keep an eye on the list!

I also am happy to say, thanks to [profile] doggieearlover, that my story has also been nominated for the Shikon Awards, here at LJ. She has nominated it for the Best WIP category, and I am honored to have it recognized. Thanks!

Other than that, I'm going to be beating the hell out of my characters pretty much all day today, or I'll simply write "and then they all died THE END" to be done with it. I told doggieearlover I'd do that and she said you would all hunt me down. I guess I'll just have to figure out away to get through this chapter, eh?

Good luck nominating and happy reading!
