YAY! Now I can buy my new NIN DVD and a little anime on the side without a ton of guilt! My deductible came back today and I cashed it. All five hundred dollars. Now mind you, I won't buy more than maybe twenty dollars in anime, but still. YAY. I am so happy to have that check. It makes my day. Now if I can just survive the next two days of work. I work at 4 AM tomorrow and at 8 AM Saturday. Wish me luck!

Until next time,

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a good one this year. Mine was much better than last years. No one was in the hospital this time, so it was very nice.

Soooo what did everyone get?

Anyways, I hope everyone had a good one and got what they wanted!

Hey,

I want to wish everyone in the United States on my f-list a Happy Thanksgiving. It's a holiday that sometimes gets lost in the shuffle of cooking and football and eating, but I thought we could remember what the holiday's also about: Being thankful. Sooo in the honor of the tradition of going around and saying what you're thankful for, why don't we do that here at LJ? Even those not in the US can join in if they like. I think it's a nice thing to do every so often, cause everyone needs to appreciate what they have. Share as many or as few things as you like, but at least post ONE thing you're thankful for. I'll go first.

There, that's my thankful list. Some list, huh? I'd like to see what others on my list have to be thankful for. If you sit down and think about it, you might be surprised at what comes up!

Until next time and enjoy that turkey!

Hey Reader,

Well, I hope all of you who are in the United States will have a Happy Thanksgiving. Those of you who aren't, just enjoy the chapter anyways. It was a fun one to write, and I hope it'll be a fun one for you guys to read. I didn't think I'd get another chapter out this fast, but hey, count your blessings and in the spirit of the holiday, be thankful!

Voting is currently going strong at the Inuyasha Fanguild. I'm hoping to hear good news when the results are posted after this weekend. I have been nominated for Best Serial and Best Crossover for Journey to the City of Endless Nights, and for Best Songfic/Poem for Child of the Moon. The Feudal Association has also started taking nominations for their awards period. I'd like to thank [profile] doggieearlover for nominating Child of the Moon for Best Characterization for Sesshomaru. It means a lot to me and I'm hoping I'll do well there, too. Journey cannot be nominated as it is on the inelliglible list due to its win two quarters ago.

We've also crossed over 850 pages in the story. I can't believe we'll be close to 900 before we know it. I wouldn't have ever thought it'd be that long, that's for sure!

Other than that, there isn't much to tell. Now for individual responses:

AFF )

And just for Nikkie, I'll give you your own response so you won't spoil yourself. That and you write such long ones that I think they need their own journal entry. *Wink*

Anyways, until next time,

Hey Reader,

Well it seems that the plot bunnies have finally woke up. I have started the next chapter, and I'm hoping that if things go well, this one won't take as long to write and post. Wouldn't that be a nice change? I'm already on page two and have almost a thousand words, so it shouldn't take me a million years to get it written.

The problem seems to be the fact that I have about ten or more other stories I've made notes for that might want to be written, too. Gah. So much to write, so little time! We'll see how things go. It seems that I either have no luck with any plot bunnies, or I have way too many going on all at once. It tends to be a winter thing.

It's been a quiet couple days, which is kind of nice after the long couple months I've had. I'm hoping they'll settle more so that I can get more writing done! Wouldn't that be nice?

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

Finally!!

Hey Reader,

I finally got that pesky monk to work with me and finished the rough draft on the chapter. I am hoping that after this long wait that it will be worth it. This chapter turned out a lot longer than I ever thought it would. When I started, I thought it might be a bit short, but by the end, that certainly is not the case. In my word processor, it turns out an even 24 pages and just a little over 12,000 words all together. I'm still anxious about it, but the more I've read through it, the more I like it, so that's a good sign. I have sent it to the beta reader, and I look forward to starting notes on the next chapter (I have a few ideas for that one that will be fun to write. . .), getting caught up on everyone else's stuff, and watching the final episodes of Inuyasha that I taped but haven't had the chance to watch yet. Oi. All I have left to do is get my beta's thoughts/corrections and finally you'll get to see what the monk's been up to.

I'd also like to congratulate those on my friend's list who made it to the final ballot at the Guild. Good luck! Voting will start on the 12th of this month, and I look forward to seeing the results! I'd like to thank [personal profile] inuhanyounikkie[personal profile] inuyashaloverrand Mage Delbene for nominating, seconding, and thirding Journey to the City of Endless Night for Best Crossove [profile] doggieearlover[personal profile] inuyashaloverr[profile] doggieearlover[personal profile] inuyashaloverrand [profile] quirkyslayer for nominating, seconding, and thirding Child of the Moon for Best Songfic/Poem. It means a lot to me!

My accent!

Here's my accent quiz results stolen from quirkyslayer.
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

The Inland North

I don't buy it. If I actually TALKED the way they do in Fargo (by the way, i do know a few, but most of us in Minnesota think it's a ridiculously over done accent in the movie), I'd have to say things like "Oh yah, it'd be a cold one today, don't y' know?" or  "Sure be mighty nippy about here, eh?" And we don't say EH! Seriously. Funny none the less. And we may talk about the weather, but I think we'd laugh that person out of the room if they ever said anything that goofy.

Sooo what's your accent guys? I'm home early from work and curious. . .

Hey Reader,

Well, the thirding process has begun and so far I've been thirded in all categories save for Best Crossover for Journey to the City of Endless Night. I'd like to thank Mage Delbene for the third of Journey in the Best Serial Category and [profile] quirkyslayerfor thirding Child of the Moon. Actually, my week has been made. I was so thrilled to get a review from her last night before I had to go off to work. So thanks. It means a lot!! It certainly was a pleasant surprise!

If you would like to know more about the Guild, you can visit it at its Home page. Thirding will end this coming Sunday and voting will take place on the 12th.

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

EDIT: Due to my blindness or lack of sleep or just inability to READ, I did not notice the fact that Mage Delbene also thirded Journey in Best Crossover. Thanks again! That is all. . .

Hey Reader,

Well, I went ahead and did it. I posted an Author's Note at Adult Fan, so if you guys happen to see Journey bumped. . .it's not an update. I know. I really have moved to LJ for my update information, but I have gotten a couple reviews there, so I felt I should let them know of this little journal. If you've come here from AFF, welcome! I hope to hear from you.

Other than that, I'm still fighting with mister monk, but I'm hoping I can get some place on the story tomorrow. I am about to start getting ready for work, after all!

Anyways, until next time,

Far Away Eyes

Hey Reader,

Yeah, I know. I just changed the layout on my journal, but I want my damn icon pics with my damn entries, sooooooooo I changed to this one and I think it's pretty sharp. That, and the weird entry from last night just NEEDED Sesshomaru's losing dignity icon. (Thanks to Quirky for that one. . .) I still giggle every time I see Sesshomaru in that pose and then the quote. After what I've done to him in the story. . .I say it's fairly appropriate.

Anyways, I wanted to say thanks to inuyashaloverr for the seconds at the Guild. Yay! It means so much to me! Hopefully that'll continue into the next round. She single handedly seconded Journey to the City of Endless night for BOTH Best Serial and Best Crossover, along with Child of the Moon for Best Songfic. So again, thanks. No matter what happens there, it means a lot that my readers want to honor it!

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes

Hey Reader,

Well, there went my whole weekend, pretty much. Yippie. I got about one paragraph on the page, and that's the start of the clean up of the scene I'm working on that my beta wants fixed. Yeah. I know, you guys are about ready to beat down the door and kick my ass. I keep telling you, it's the MONK'S fault! He's just not a nice guy to work with. I don't know what his problem is, but he's just not into behaving as much as I'd like. You could also blame the new trailer for the Nine Inch Nails live DVD that Trent put out at nin.com. . .butttttttt it's probably the fact I watched my bootleg concert on Friday night and umm that man's terribly distracting. I don't know if the monk likes him much. Inuyasha seems to like Trent a lot more, go figure...don't ask.

Anyways, I went to a family function on Saturday. An uncle was having a 50th birthday party. It was fun, but boy, is it just me or do relatives have way too much advice about things they know nothing about? I was told by at least three different ones HOW I should go about getting my writing career going and how to make money with it, ect. These people have no clue what it takes to get into the writing market, get noticed, and get published. They seem to think I should write some big silly book that the big publishers want BEFORE I write what I WANT to write. Excuse me? I write what I want to write, and if it's publishable at a certain point...great. If not, that's not going to bother me. I have enough fine folk who read what I do write and like it to make me happy, and I don't feel the need to write for the big wigs who think they know everything anyways. It's just an observation I've had about the last, oh say, five years of family functions. I show up, and they have endless advice "You should study," "You should apply for," You should write about. . ." and on and on. It's like they don't have anything else to do in between these events than to drum up advice for everyone there, just because they're either in the mid-50s to early 60s doesn't mean they know squat about the stuff they're trying to give people advice on. . sigh. I'm just glad I do the nod and smile bit really well.

I also have been thinking of working on a follow up to my original piece, Bleeding Through. I've been thinking of doing that ever since I finished it, but haven't really made coherent enough notes or started it, especially since I have you all breathing down my neck for mister chapter! (Talk to the monk. . .it's his fault it's being held up!) I want to do both, but with the job, the struggles on this chapter, and everything else, I don't know if I can handle working on two pieces at once. I suppose I'll just keep making notes and see how it goes. Have no fear, I will make that monk work with me or ELSE. Bastard. He can't keep you guys from enjoying the story!

And now, I must go to bed so I can function enough and MAYBE. . .just maybe, get somewhere on the silly chapter. GAH. Why can't it be Friday(PayDay) already!

Until next time,

Far Away Eyes
