Hey,

Boy has it been a long time since I updated, eh? The past few months have been extremely busy---and considering the fact that I work in retail, it's no surprise. Now that we're entering the slower period, I actually managed to find the time to sit down and finish the latest chapter. I'm hoping that you'll enjoy it after the long delay.

In between the last chapter and this one, a few things have happened. At Eternal Destiny, Journey was named a Legend for Best Characterization: Inuyasha. I'm grateful to the site for even considering my story for such an honor. Who knew that when I started this it would end up winning such a place in the fandom?

I've gone back to the source, and I'm having a blast re-reading both Inuyasha and the Belgariad/Malloreon series. A lot of old and new ideas are bubbling to the surface and I'm looking forward to writing more chapters---hopefully at a quicker speed. All of the characters and plot lines are just as fresh as when I read them the first time. If you haven't read the Belgariad/Malloreon, or haven't read Inuyasha in awhile, I recommend that you do. My only lament? That there isn't a show/movie version of the Eddings work---although movies never live up to the original material. I guess I just see them so clearly in my mind.

I've also decided to open up requests. If there was something in the story you want a bit more expansion on, a behind the scenes one-shot, if you will, please let me know. I'll see what I can do with it. So far, doggieearlover has requested a one-shot with Sesshomaru calling Miroku out on his eavesdropping habit at the inn. Please, give me your requests and we can explore some between the lines.

Now, I'd like to get into the review responses:

Media Miner:

knittingknots: I'm glad you liked the look at Koga. I need to set him in motion, and I figured it was a good enough time as any. Keep reading. You might be surprised to see what he ends up doing next.

Fyrloche: I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm still saddened by the passing of Eddings. I must say, though, I didn't find his last book series all that well written. I noticed the absence of his wife, Leigh, on the page considerably. It felt almost as if he just reshuffled the Belgariad cast, gave them new names and responsibilities and tweaked a few of their traits without any real connection to any of them. It's too bad that both are gone, because as a team they were magical.

Ipoe: I'm glad to see that you're still reading! I hope you'll continue to enjoy the story.

Xochitl: I wish that I could update much sooner and much more frequently, but this doesn't pay the bills, so bear with me. It says “completed” for each chapter. Trust me, you'll know when it's completed.

Kfa453: Keep reading. You'll find out what happens to Rin soon enough. I hope you'll continue to enjoy the story.

Charles Watford: You'll have to wait and see just what happens with Naraku. I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone! Don't worry, this world they're in might have other effects on him that couldn't have happened in the manga. I love blending the rules of the two and seeing what emerges on the other side. As for the jewel, it might not be a significant player in the overall story at this point in time, but that doesn't it won't sometime down the road. Besides, I think it'd be much more interesting to see what would happen if the Orb of Aldur and the Shikon Jewel crossed paths---and then there's always the question of the Sardion, I suppose. I hope that you'll enjoy the twists and turns as we go down the rabbit hole together.

Lady Yoko: I'm glad you find my story so fulfilling. I have a lot of fun writing it, and while I don't update as quickly as some, I do have every intention of finishing it. It'd be great if it could turn into a novel, but I suppose with copyright and such as it is that won't happen. Ah well, we can still have fun with it none the less. I do hope that you'll continue to enjoy it.

AFF:

kanna3738: It's true. I know that it's sad to hear the news about Eddings passing, but unfortunately he wasn't blessed as his iconic character, Belgarath is, with seeming immortality. At least we'll always hve his stories!

Natasha: I'm hoping you'll keep reading it. I wish I could update much more frequently, but that pesky thing called real life seems to get in the way.

That's all for now. I hope to have the next chapter much sooner, but we'll see.
